Using the Data Source Selector
One of the simplest ways to target a search is to select the data source that you wish to search. This can be done by pre-selecting a single data source or a combination before entering search terms.
To pre-select data sources:
-
From the search bar at the top of the screen, select the data source drop down menu.
-
Uncheck All Sources and select the desired data sources you wish to search.
-
Enter you search term(s) and press Enter or click
to begin the search.
If you pre-selected multiple data sources, your results can be further narrowed by eliminating certain sources using the facet filters visible to the right of search results.
If you wish to expand the number of data sources after the initial search, you must run the search again selecting a wider range of data sources.
Using Facet Filters
Results from any data source can be refined by using facet filters. Facet filters are visible at the right of a result list. Common facet filters include author, time, and document type.
Be aware that not every facet filter can be uniformly applied to every document type and data source.
